The Holidays are upon us. Time spent with friends and family in celebration, holiday work parties, hours spent shopping, etc., etc! It's a wonderful and joyous time of year, and provides the perfect opportunity for our finely tuned workout routines to be replaced by a month or more of high-calorie dieting and sedentary living. But, you say, how can I possibly maintain my current level of fitness with all of the demands this time of year brings?
The fallacy is in thinking that there is a way to maintain your current level of fitness while the demands on your time increase. The fault lies in reasoning that either you can get out for that 10 mile run or you can't. It's that all-or-nothing mentality that needs to be challenged this time of year. H.I.I.T. training to the rescue!
