Scapular Stability Push-ups

Scapular stability is an essential component of strong, healthy shoulder function, and poor scapular control or limited scapular mobility is associated with many shoulder conditions, including shoulder impingement. When scapular functioning is limited, the glenohumoral, or ball & socket shoulder joint is overly taxed, often resulting in injury during overhead movements. While scapular limitations are quite common, correcting the issue is relatively simply with regular, focused, corrective exercises.

New Research: Improving Posture In Women With Back Pain

Thoracic kyphosis, defined as an increase in the normal curvature of the spine, is a growing problem with young women. Several factors, such as: slouching, carrying heavy bags, watching television, breast development, and ever increasing hours buried in their phones, are making this a national problem, and one that will surely increase over the years, especially as Millennials enter their aging years. 

Researchers from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, sought to determine the effectiveness of either chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy to the thoracic spine or stretch and strengthening exercises versus the combined treatment of chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy to the thoracic spine in conjunction with stretch and strengthening exercises.
